“Time is a game played beautifully by children.” – Heraclitus.
February is here and we are preparing for the new school year in Sydney. My youngest has been back at childcare for a month now, and the time is speeding by. We can as feel the time is coming for her Kindergarten enrolment next year.
I can remember the feeling of my body being rocked by the surgeons as they tried to get my daughter out by C-section. Miss Leo was in a breech position. I remember seeing her for the first time before she took her first breath. And now she is on the verge of getting ready for school next year while nursing the attitude of the notorious ‘Fournados’ (when a kid is four and going on 40 in the space of what feels like an eternity).

And 2025 has grown quickly and flown in as fast as a four-year-old who has consumed a bag of red frog candies. The year is speeding by and we’ll feel discombobulated as we finally come out of the outer planet retrograde season. Before the month starts, Uranus in Taurus is finally direct. Whatever Uranus has been working on for you in the past 8 or so years in your chart, the revision has finished.
Jupiter moves directly on the 5th of February, ending the outer planet retrograde season. Yay! We are free now to embrace how Jupiter offers to expand our minds. Jupiter makes a lovely link to Mercury, what has been percolating in our minds is ready to take form.
The same day, Venus moves into Aries. We can feel new beginnings in love, relationships, money and how we see ourselves. Venus has left a meeting with the North Node and Neptune. So we have seen through the BS, what we need to overcome and move forward in these aspects of our lives. Does it feel scary? Sure does. Have we finally seen what has come to pass for what it truly is but may be scared to believe it or face it?
Absolutely!
That is where the challenge lies. The Full Moon in Leo on 13th February highlights how we can creatively embrace these challenges. But also how to bring out into our lives what makes our hearts sing. And we need to listen to our heart and embrace this Full Moon energy. It is a turning point! Because what makes our hearts sing makes us embrace what nurtures us on a soul level (Ceres is conjunct Sun in Aquarius). Mercury in Aquarius nearby is not going to sit there and wait. It will make you want to share those ideas of the heart that come from the heart of your soul.
Once Mercury sends these messages, he moves into the sign of Pisces on the 15th of February. Put pen to paper…or have those discussions. Our dreams and what we want to do with them are more vivid, and our intuition is getting stronger. Yet, with the asteroid Hygeia moving into Taurus a few days earlier on the 11th of February, we will feel this stronger and the need for self-care. Get a massage or take time out to pamper yourself.
As the month moves on the sense of self-nurturing will be emphasised more as we say…
Happy Birthday to all Pisceans when the Sun moves into Pisces on 19th February!
Pisces, the Sun will give you a boost for the year and the rest of us a boost in trusting our instincts more. Around this transit of the Sun we will see Pallas Athena move into the sign of Aquarius (17th February) and Juno move into Sagittarius (21st February). We are being invited to trust our intuition when it comes to our partnerships. To see where we can embrace the new adventures presented to us. These will be quite transformative as Pluto will be conjunct with the asteroid Persephone nearby in Aquarius. We are being invited to sacrifice things willingly. While it sounds macabre it will be something that you know is time to let go of. And to do so has the power to transform your life. The invitation whether we want to or not is there. It is up to us to answer the call.
It is a lot to process. But if we take the time to process all we are experiencing we know where we stand. It will take some work and we will know when we are done with these phases for the time being as we will need to take some time out for ourselves. Imagine a Mumma checking in with her babies to see if they are OK or safe (and if they are older they answer the phone). We have to check in with our inner child as Ceres moves into Pisces on 25th February.
As a day before on the 24th, Mars in Cancer is finally direct. Now this has been a powerful retrograde as Mars has been not only retrograde for a while but out of bounds too during its retrograde trek. Since December last year, we have felt passive aggression and fluctuating emotions. All the while embracing our passions and the feelings we hadn't considered on the emotional front while balancing the fine line with our egos. This prepares us for the New Moon in Pisces at the end of the month. Now a note about Mars. Mars rules surgeries, surgeons and the scalpel. While it is not ideal to have surgeries during a Mars retrograde season, modern technology and medicine know something more than astrology (yes this is the scientist coming out). Please do not postpone emergency surgical procedures! Got it? Good. Now to round off this emotional rollercoaster of a month…
February brings emotional transformation as we release what no longer serves us. It's a time to set future intentions, even if just on a vision board. Focus on your goals based on intuition and trust the Universe to take care of the rest.
As we look ahead, it’s natural to feel a sense of mourning for the speed at which time passes, reflecting on all that has come to pass and the lessons we have learned along the way. We are on the cusp of discovering the versions of ourselves that are emerging, and it can be both exciting and daunting. It’s important to acknowledge that while we may not be there yet, this journey is deeply personal and shared by many. We are all navigating this path together, and that understanding can bring us comfort as we move forward.
As I anticipate my baby girl’s upcoming enrolment in kindergarten, I recognise that her preschool phase is drawing to a close. As children play, they grow and serve as time markers of our adulthood. And as I embrace my emotions, February presents a wonderful opportunity to savour and live in the moment.
See you next month!
Astrological blessings,
Georgina
